AN ACT MAKING AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION OF STATE GENERAL FUNDS TO THE OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE COSTS OF CERTAIN EXPERT WITNESS FEES, JUDGMENTS AND SETTLEMENT AGREEMENTS INCURRED BY THE OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL AND AGAINST THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI FOR FISCAL YEAR 1999.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. In addition to all other sums heretofore appropriated, the following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, for the purpose of defraying the expenses of the Office of the Attorney General for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1999 $21,658.00.
This additional appropriation is made for the purpose of defraying the costs of expert witness fees incurred by the Office of the Attorney General.
SECTION 2. In addition to all other sums heretofore appropriated, the following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, for the purpose of paying a settlement against the State of Mississippi for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1999 $ 2,500.00.
This additional appropriation is made for the purpose of paying a settlement in Civil Action No. 1:95 CV91-S-D, Hall v. Gadd in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi; Eastern Division.
SECTION 3. The money herein appropriated shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the proper fund or funds as set forth in this act, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
